After waiting for over a year, the work on the space has finally started!!
Hackney’s work to create 2 spaces along with a communal area and expanded office for Hackney Showroom has begun. Once the new structures are completed it will be onto the part that we raised the money for – the new flooring, blinds, storage and signage. Thank you again to everyone who helped us raise the money for that through our Spacehive campaign last year.
It is estimated that the work will take around 6 weeks to complete so we are hoping that the new space will be open ready for the Summer!
In the meantime the TRA committee have continued to work with Hackney Showroom and we have lots of exciting plans ready to launch in the new space including a children’s library, Futureheads youth programme, homework club, a street party on 14th August, a weekly lunch club for over 50s, volunteer opportunities, art projects, Disco Loco for pre-school children and much more!
