Planned events & activities: · Youth funding – extra £2k for us and Hackney Showroom to run projects. Figuring out what to do with that. · Youth Club running but Jill on jury duty. Nina has been helping and has recruited new helpers from youth team · Emley asked about some activities that appeal to adults · Family fun mornings continued until weather got nice at end May. Might revisit in winter. · Remi’s charity event 2 April – raised over £600 for Autistic children. Hoping for a different charity event in August. Ideas for which charity welcome – send to Remi! · Hackney Herbal also attended and put together list of Gardening ideas. There are lots of ideas, info and tips on the Facebook group · Ellie, Sarah and Kathy have taken over running of group (other welcome to join if interested) · Following presentation at last community meeting, held litter picking event, gathering rubbish dumped in New River. Will be a regular twice-yearly event. · Wellbeing classes continuing for another 10 – 12 weeks. Well attended but not enough to pay for itself. Will need more funding if we want to continue. Most people who attend Zumba class are her own clients. When more people did come were put off by size of space. Can’t do evening time. Pilates is on Sat mornings.
Community Development Fund spend/activities · Emley showed breakdown of Community Development Fund (money available to claim from council) spend for 21/22 (see below) · Has also done proposed spend for 22/23 (see below). Process for claiming funds is laborious and slow. So this time have agreed with council that we have a rough overall breakdown of £3.5k and we keep in bank account rather than seeking approval for every bit each time. Any slight differences in spend can be reflected in reporting afterwards · (£3,500 available): o Gardening activities £350 o Youth Club £500 o Community trip e.g. trip to beach £700 o Support for wellbeing activities e.g. yoga £600 o Cultural activity e.g. art project or theatre trip £700 o Community parties £650 · Emley asking for approval of spend/anything else people would like to spend money on? There are some ideas here: https://www.facebook.com/KingsCrescentN4/photos/pcb.440920377474927/440920194141612/ · Community trip Coaches for community trip are now very expensive – over £1k). Suggestion that we run a subsidised trip/voluntary extra payment. Hackney Showroom could run ticketing so people could book through website. Jill volunteered to organise for Saturday 3 September. · Cultural activity Hackney Showroom have already booked some tickets for Sleeping Beauty at Sadler’s Wells on Sun 11 December (matinee). Nina suggested using some of £700 cultural money to subsidise this. · Jill knows someone, Dura, on Queen’s Drive who has lots of experience applying for funding and is willing to help us.
