LAUNCH OF CLOTHES BANK AND CLOTHING DONATIONS FOR RESIDENTS IN LOCAL EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION:

A mid-week reminder about DONATIONS for CLOTHES BANK / CLOTHING for RESIDENTS in LOCAL EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION: Thank you very much for your support of the weekly Clothes Bank session at St Johns church, alongside that for residents in local emergency accommodation. Volunteers report the new underwear and clothing are gratefully received.
Both, the residents in local emergency accommodation and people coming to the Soup Kitchen and Food Bank at St John’s remain in desperate need of clothing.
There remains a shortage of practical men’s clothing in all sizes. i.e. jeans or tracksuits bottoms, tee shirts and underwear. We had a particular request for size 11 Trainers this week.
Also, practical, larger women’s sizes, especially 18 to 20 e.g. tracksuit bottom and loose tee shirts.
(A good guideline to ‘practical’ is if they are not formal wear and can be washed at 50/60 degrees).

Panties – L, XL, XXL. Bras: 34B + Large to 40DD, Women’s, NEW Only/ in packaging

Donation Instructions:
- All donations, both New and 2nd Hand (in good condition & laundered), to be Double-Bagged and dropped off in the box by the door of St John the Evangelist, corner Gloucester Drive & Queen’s Drive.
- No loose clothes please.
- All underwear & socks, new only and in original packaging.
- If you are able to purchase new clothes, you are welcome to send online orders direct to St. John’s Vicarage, 2a Gloucester Drive, London N4 2LW.
If you prefer not to shop online & have the clothes sent to St John’s – here is the link to the ‘Just Giving’ page – That way ‘Gift Aid’ increases the value of the donation.
