Finally complete!!!
I can finally confirm that we have bought all of the items that we said we would!!
We ran a crowdfunding campaign 2 years ago now to raise money to fit out our new community space (Unit C/Hackney Showroom).
Loads of local residents and Hackney Showroom supporters pledged money and that was topped up by a huge grant from the Mayor of London, in addition to support from Hackney Resident Participation team, Source Partnership and others.
We pledged to buy storage, flooring, signage and blinds for the space and we have done it! For those who haven’t seen the space recently there are photos here (plus photos there of what the space looked like before Hackney did the building work to transform it into 2 usable spaces!)
It has been a bumpy ride with all of the Covid chaos on top of managing such a big project, but it’s a relief to be at the end and we are loving the new space!!!
We hope to meet you all at events and activities soon (when we are able to safely!)
